By the time she was 18, she had become proficient in playing the drums, organ, guitar and piano, and started teaching the drums and guitar full time; entering her students into competitions and Trinity College Exams. Debs' student base consisted of 38 students.
She has played in and been a part of the "Maryborough Excelsior City Brass Band" from 1986 - 1994, winning several competitions playing the Xylophone. The "St Stephens Junior Choir" from 1985 - 1994, she had joined the "Toowoomba Brass Band" from 1994 - 1996 and gained her Bachelor Of Music Degree in 2001.
Her academic accomplishments include the completion of her 7th and 8th Grade Trinity percussion, Grade 4 AMEB for piano and theory and Grade 3 for AMEB trumpet and clarinet.
She now teaches on the Gold Coast at several different schools, specializing in percussion and multi-instrumental teaching. She still teaches privately and all her students achieve high results through AMEB or Trinity examinations.
